HOMEBOYZ TO LAUNCH ARTISTE AGENCY

Entertainment house, Homeboyz will soon be launching and artiste agency to be headed by event organiser Situma Jones.
The agency dubbed VAT - Value Added Talent - will be a booking agency of choice for most musicians and entertainment practitioners in Kenya.
So far the acts signed up include Abbas Kubaff, Allan Aaron, Amani, Atemi Oyungu, Avril, Big Pin, Bobby Mapesa, Cannibal, Chizi, Collo, Daddy Owen, DNA, Eko Dydda, Eric Waninaina, Habida, Juacali, Longombas who are based in the UK and Marya among others.

AMANI PRODUCES SOCIAL RESPONSIBLE MOVIE

Singer Amani has morphed into a filmmaker. Her first stint with movies starts with Wamba. This film takes place in 1990 and follows the life of Wamba and his group of friends who live in California - a suburban slum of Nairobi. When Wamba's family deals with the devastating effects of a new and unknown disease in AIDS, the whole community is torn apart and threatened. Living like his peers; Wamba sells used books in his spare time when he is not in school and gets help from his friends who usually refer customers. They spend a lot of time hanging out together, playing soccer and arguing at the neighborhood corner store. The day Wamba lost his parents who die of Aids; he becomes everybody’s enemy in the neighborhood. None of his friends want to be associated with him; they are scared because of the rumor in the neighborhood that Wamba is a sorcerer and Aids victim. Rejected and isolated Wamba questions himself about the death of his parents and finds out that they were suffering from Aids and that is what killed them. Aids becomes a reality to him and not just a word. With Wamba we discover Aids and learn about it. We also find out how he handles the crisis in the neighborhood.

AMANI: I’M NOT PREGNANT

Kenya's fast rising star Amani denied the ongoing rumours that she is 'with-child'.
The Missing My Baby star denied that she was expecting and laughed off the claims. “I find it quite hilarious. I am not pregnant, not yet. My priority right now is my music. If I was pregnant I would be open about it, there is nothing to hide.”
Amani has kept her romantic life private so far and has repeatedly denied that she once dated Tanzanian bongo flava rapper AY.
Forget the new born child project, she is working on a new project that will see her take up the role of a an associate producer.
“Yeah, there are a couple of new projects apart from the new singles and later on a new album, I also got involved in a project for a film where I was an associate producer and it should be coming out soon. The film has both a foreign and Kenyan crew, all very talented.”
