CELEBRATING MADARAKA DAY THE PATRIOTIC WAY

A new event is being born on Madaraka Day 1st June (Madaraka Day commemorates the day that Kenya attained internal self-rule in 1963).
Kibera Good Governance Festival will be held Just outside Kibera (one of the poorer parts of Nairobi), on the DC's Ground in Makina, starting with local artists performing from 12 noon. Headlining artists include Juliani (KE), Abbi (KE), Mzungu Kichaa (TZ/DK) & VQEE (KE/DK).
The event will also include talks about the proposed constitution. Both the current and the proposed constitution will be available also free of charge.A local CBO, Kibera Community Development Agenda, is organizing the event while neither musicians nor Event Sound & Entertainment who supplies stage, PA and instruments are charging any fee. The Royal Danish Embassy is supporting the event.

KENYAN BEAUTY TO LAUNCH ALBUM

VQee born Wanjiku-Victoria Seest was raised in Kenya and grew up Nairobi amidst the different cultures, tribes and lifestyles.
She moved to Copenhagen, Denmark in 2006 and together with Singer/ Producer Claus Seest - her hubby - she worked on her 15 track debut album Halua.
She is now back to launch it here. Described as a slow cooking blended sweet dessert that is a favorite among the Swahili people, Halua promises to thrill Afro fusion fans.

The album boasts of a beautiful blend of the traditional authentic untainted African sounds and the modern elements creating a beautiful unique pop sound.
Halua features distinguished musicians like; Danish/ French rapper/dancer, Justaman, Thomas Menzer, Kim Menzer, Papa Pete, Lars Fabiansen and Niels Knoll Andersen most based in Denmark. To give it and East African feel, VQEE roped in bongo flava rapper Mzungu Kichaa and Kenyan producer and rapper Wawesh.
Halua will be launched at the Alliance Francaise Gardens on May 14.

MZUNGU KICHAA WITH JITOLEE
Check this out. Mzungu Kichaa was born in Denmark and raised in Tanzania. For a caucasian he speaks flawless Swahili better than some Kenyans I know. This video was shot on location in Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam. The crowd you see are the people doing "business" in Kariakoo market.
He is a natural. He features Professa Jay and Mwasiti in the joint Jitolee. Enjoy and be amazed as i was.
